FixMySystem — Customer & Engineer Feature List

The UK's Industrial Service Network
Connect with independent industrial engineers, organise machinery care and manage agreed work through one platform.
Updated: 17 September 2026

Working feature reference for product, website copy and marketing. This update records published capabilities and requested improvements; it is not a completed portal audit or confirmation that the website has been changed.

Reading this list — Status meanings:

PublishedDescribed in the current public website or feature guide. Signed-in operation has not been independently verified in this review.
Availability to confirmDescribed in the earlier feature reference, but current operation or full availability needs confirmation. Absence from the shorter public guide does not prove removal.
Requested improvementIncluded in the latest implementation brief. No completed implementation or verification result has been supplied.
No feature below has been newly certified as "active" by this document. Update status from the feature audit before using availability claims in campaigns.

1.For business customers

Job postingDescribe the machine, required work, location and budget so interested engineers can assess the requirement.

Engineer profilesReview relevant skills, experience and work examples before choosing an engineer.
Quote comparisonCompare price, proposed timing and experience across interested engineers.
Quote acceptance and milestonesAgree the offer and stages of work before proceeding.
Job progressFollow the work through its recorded stages.
Milestone approvalsReview completed stages and approve the associated payment through the platform's workflow.

3.How fees, rewards and support work

Clear fees for both sides

Published
ItemPublished arrangement
RegistrationFree for customers and engineers; no monthly subscription.
Posting a jobFree to post and compare quotes.
Customer platform fee10% added to the engineer's invoice.
Engineer platform commission10% deducted from the engineer's invoice amount.
Card processingAbsorbed by the platform from its commission.
VATPublished figures exclude VAT unless otherwise stated.
Simple illustration: for a £500 engineer invoice before VAT, the customer pays £550 before applicable VAT, and the engineer receives £450 before tax or their own costs. The two £50 platform charges are separate. Actual checkout and invoice records must apply the authoritative billing and tax rules.
Use "Free to register; transaction fees apply" in short descriptions. Do not imply that a paid job has no platform charge.

Rewards and repeat use

The current guide describes reward points on paid jobs, customer redemption against future invoices and bonuses for qualifying activity. It states 1,000 points = £1 and a 12-month points expiry.

Use the current approved rewards configuration for qualifying actions, tier names, thresholds, bonus values, redemption restrictions and expiry. Historical tier aliases, percentages and launch offers must not be reused automatically. Points are not a promise of cash withdrawal.

Support and Fair Pay

Support tickets and dispute review are described in the current guide. Dispute outcomes depend on the evidence and applicable terms.

The guide currently describes the Fair Pay Policy as "Draft for legal review". Its operative status needs confirmation before publishing a binding promise about protected payments. Do not reduce the policy to an unconditional "50% if it cannot be fixed" claim. This list does not alter fees, policies or dispute outcomes.

4.Requested improvements for customers and engineers

All 11 items below are requested improvements. Their implementation has not been verified. They extend the existing product and should not be advertised as available solely because they appear here.

Better information before a visit

1

Guided breakdown brief

Customers and engineers

Capture symptoms, error codes, recent changes and production impact. Add photos/video and optionally extract machine details for customer confirmation. Give the engineer a clearer starting brief.

2

Pre-visit readiness checklist

Both

Confirm access, site contact, induction arrangements, machine availability, documents and parts readiness before attendance. Show unresolved items and who owns them.

3

Machine-specific experience

Engineers and customers

Record manufacturers, models, control systems and work types. Help customers assess fit while distinguishing declared experience from checked evidence.

Clearer commercial decisions

4

Enhanced quote comparison

Customers

Compare the complete payable amount, diagnostic versus repair scope, exclusions, timing and parts assumptions.

5

Private profitability preview

Engineers

Estimate proceeds after platform fees and entered costs, with travel/preparation time included in effective earnings. Keep internal margins private.

6

Approved scope changes

Both

Submit and review changes to labour, parts, price and timing after a quote has been accepted. Preserve the original agreement and require an authorised decision on the revision.

7

Purchasing roles and approval limits

Business customers

Let operators raise requests, managers approve work and finance access permitted records. Add purchase-order references, cost centres, sites and spending limits.

Easier reporting and access

8

Voice-assisted service reports

Engineers and customers

Turn dictated notes and selected photos into an editable report. Engineer review is required before sharing; recorded facts and readings must not be invented.

9

Machine QR labels

Business customers and authorised engineers

Scan a machine label to open permitted information or start a fault report. The QR must not grant unrestricted access to private records.

10

Scoped offline working

Engineers

Read selected job information and capture notes/photos without signal, then synchronise with clear pending status and conflict handling. Financial actions stay online.

11

Paid remote assessment

Both

Book an agreed engineer-led assessment before a visit, with clear scope, price and written outcome. Any later-visit credit is agreed in advance; a repair is not guaranteed.

First implementation priorities: guided breakdown briefs, approved scope changes and voice-assisted service reporting. Later work should follow the phased customer/engineer implementation brief and its dependency checks.

5.Shared capabilities to verify alongside the features

Keep these in the operational audit rather than assuming they work because a page exists:

6.Confirming what is actually active

Use the existing implementation-and-audit brief to produce one row per testable feature:

FeatureAudienceUser routeDeployed/enabled?EligibilityActual outcomeEvidence/environmentFinal status
Complete for each feature
—Customer / Engineer / BothActual routeObserved stateRelevant rulesWhat was testedRecord, timestamp and environmentVerified active / Partial / Broken / Inactive / Missing / Unverified

A feature earns Verified active only when an eligible ordinary user can complete its expected workflow with appropriate runtime evidence. A saved draft is not a delivered message; a provider request is not a settled payment; a staging test is not proof of production operation.

Keep the original baseline and repaired result separately. Promote requested features into the relevant customer/engineer sections only after implementation and verification. Do not remove a feature from the inventory simply because it fails a test.

7.Using this list in website copy and marketing

Lead with the audience's next useful action:

Use the current verified feature subset in short public copy. Keep "availability to confirm" and requested improvements in internal planning until their status is established. A roadmap item should not become a public "coming soon" commitment without an agreed release decision.
Retain FixMySystem branding and existing public-identity preferences. Do not identify the owner in campaign materials or invent a spokesperson, founder biography, testimonial, partnership or completed-job claim.
